Software Installation

Software installation is a important step to keep the system operational but sometimes when we install a new software it happen to get a error message or a computer lock up or some of the old programs to do not work anymore even before the installation of the new software it works just fine.
Important things
When you do self installation software it is important to make sure that the software is compatible with your operating system, and your hardware. Most of the new software comes on CDs or DVDs and most of them run automatically when inserted to the CD / DVD unit. All what you have to do is to pay attention and to follow the screen instructions and choose the appropriate settings. If the CD / DVD is not starting automatically you have  to open My Computer by clicking the icon from the desktop or selecting from the Start Menu and choose CD ROM unit and try to locate a file named setup.exe and double click on it to start the execution. Some of the antivirus / firewall programs interfere with the installation process and do not allow to run unless you disable temporarily the antivirus / firewall program. Doing this you have to make sure you prescan th support media before installation to make sure you do not have that file infected with viruses / malicious software. It is recommended that you have to close all other applications before running any new software.
If after installation the computer is unstable and is taking forever to open the screens it is most likely the new software is the cause of the problem and you have to uninstall it. This it should be done from Control Panel and in not any circumstances just   deleting the file from Windows Explorer as there are many files related and Windows Registries settings what have to be reset.

Internet free software downloads are the biggest risk of your system since you cannot control the source of the software and the intentions of the people who post the  such downloads. Many of them have bad intentions and modify the original games / software with malicious codes to take the control or steal the information from your computer without your knowledge and even worse to steal and missuse your identity or financial information. Computer infection risks are greater in machines handled by kids, that is a fact. They are attracted by all sorts of Internet flashy offers for downloading all sorts of games which often incorporate a malicious code. One solution would be good proactive protection that scans each downloaded file and a traffic monitor that shows all connections, in or out. But we all know that malware is evolving faster than protection programs and this solution may not always be the best
.
Anyway always you have to create a system restore point before any installation and if possible I recommend to backup your data and personal files to avoid any loss of information which can be costly and sometimes priceless.
